Birth Services

Your team here at Baby Bliss is happy to be as hands on, or off with you as you are comfortable with. Through experience and research, we have learned that women do best surrounded by people they trust in a comfortable environment. Whether you're birthing at home or in our birth center, your labor room can include dim lighting, candles, food & drinks, music, children, loved ones, and whatever you need to feel comfortable and safe. We have an awesome tub to accommodate your planned water labor and birth. Our goal is to help you achieve your best birth, as you define it!

Prenatal Care

Beautiful pregnant woman

Baby Bliss is a place to be and feel comfortable. Our goal is to facilitate open, trust-filled relationships between our team and your family as you prepare to welcome your precious new baby! You may expect your visits to be relaxed, and we invite you to ask any questions or address concerns that will come up during your pregnancy each time you are with us!

Normally, your prenatal care will consist of

  • 1 Visit every 4 weeks until 28 weeks
  • 1 Visit every 2 weeks until 36 weeks
  • 1 Visit every week until delivery

These basics may change in order to accommodate your individual needs. Pam may also order any necessary lab work or diagnostic tests as needed.

Labor and Birth

Labor and birth

Pam will be on call for you 24/7 starting 4 weeks before your estimated date of delivery, and will plan with you when it is the right time to come into the birth center or have them come to your home. Pam will attend your birth as a licensed midwife at your home, or at the center. She will assess the health and safety of mom and baby throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth and if a higher-risk situation arises, will assist women in a transfer to medical care.

Post-Partum Care

You may expect a visit after about 24 hours once you have delivered your baby. Generally, Pam will see you again at 3-5 days, again at 2 weeks, and 4 weeks, and once more at 6 weeks. We will decide together if this schedule needs to be altered for your individual needs.  We will file your birth certificate for you, and may also do your baby’s PKU blood test. Pam may also apply Eye prophylactics and a vitamin K injection if you decide they are warranted.
