Meet the Team

Pam Wright

Licensed Midwife

Pam began her midwifery academics and apprenticeship in the state of Montana in 1997. Direct-entry licensing requirements in Montana are more stringent than those here in Texas. She worked simultaneously with four different midwives during her apprenticeship. These included both direct-entry midwives and certified nurse midwives. During the course of Pam’s apprenticeship, she attended over 80 births and was exposed to many different styles of practicing.

Pam started her own practice in 2001. From 2001 to 2010 she enjoyed the opportunity to provide care to many moms and babies in NW Montana. She also had the opportunity to assist others wishing to pursue midwifery. Pam has been the supervisor of several apprentice midwives. Offering women the opportunity of choosing where to give birth and knowing their options is the joy of Pam’s life! Since starting her apprenticeship in 1997, she has delivered (or helped deliver) over 450  babies!

Birth can be such a beautiful experience and I enjoy assisting families in making that beautiful safe experience a reality.

Cheryl Gordon

Apprenticing Midwife

Cheryl Gordon began her apprenticeship with Pam at Baby Bliss in early 2013. She has had a life-long dream of becoming a midwife and truly loves serving and caring for women and their babies.

Cheryl became acquainted with midwifery and natural childbirth during her third pregnancy.  After two previous hospital births she was introduced to the “out of hospital” birth experience.  A little nervous at first, the personal and individual care she received from her midwife during that time quickly gave her the confidence and knowledge needed to trust the natural process of birth.  That natural birth experience made a lasting impression.  She has since became an advocate for natural birth and is passionate about educating and empowering other women in their birth choices.

Cheryl  currently serves as Quality Assurance Manager for Baby Bliss Birthing Services.  She attended Mercy In Action Intensive Midwifery School in Boise, Idaho during the Fall of 2013 and is presently completing her third year of clinical internship.  She is  now eligible to sit for the NARM exam and will be taking it soon.  She is the proud mother to five grown children and “Grammy” to four beautiful grandchildren whom she adores.

Hannah Mars

Apprenticing Midwife

Hannah began training in midwifery in the fall of 2014 with that focus in mind. She attended Mercy in Action’s intensive midwifery academics program in Boise, Idaho and shortly after graduating began her current apprenticeship with Baby Bliss.

Hannah first became interested in midwifery when she saw it as an opportunity for mission work, though she has been exposed to the trade all her life. She is the oldest of seven children, all birthed at home, and several of whose births she was able to attend (her first at the age of six!). She enjoys being able to help women and their families through this amazing and life changing experience, and is working towards being certified as a CPM at the end of 2016.

Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Vickie Boehme Greenhaw

Apprenticing Midwife

I was raised in the Mabank area and graduated from Mabank High School in 1974. I married my high school sweetheart Wayne Greenhaw in 1976 and we now have 4 grown children. In 1980, Wayne and I opened Treetop Landscape where I was the office administrator. I have also had the privilege of working at Texas A&M as an administrative assistant for dining services. Whoop!! Gig em’ Aggies! I now am working at Baby bliss as the office manager and am currently apprenticing to become a midwife.

Jolene Finley

Apprenticing Midwife

I have three wonderful children that have led me to the path of helping women during such a beautiful time in their lives. I did not have a doula at any of my births because I did not recognize how much we truly need one. If I could change one thing about any of my births it would be to have a doula. My husband was awesome in supporting my every need, but there were times when he needed support himself!

I am a student midwife studying with the Association of Texas Midwives, and apprenticing with Baby Bliss Birthing Center. I have attended many births and learn something new from each mother. Each birth is different, but at the end of the day making moms feel empowered and like a goddess during this special occasion is what I aim for. I look forward to meeting you and helping your family welcome your new bundle of joy to the world!

Katrina Ketner

Pregnancy and Childbirth Educator

Katrina Ketner moved to Wills Point 6 years ago, when she married her high school sweetheart, Shawn. She has three beautiful children, 3 and 4 yr old girls, and a 1 yr old boy. She began to study pregnancy, birth, and lactation when she was pregnant with her oldest daughter. It didn’t become a passion until after she had a rough birth experience, and breastfeeding troubles, with little support. She had a birth center birth with her middle daughter and breastfed her for 15 months. Her son was born at Baby Bliss, and she is still breastfeeding him.

Katrina is our lactation specialist, pregnancy and childbirth educator, and placenta encapsulator. She is currently continuing her lactation education with Birth Arts International, and has been teaching our pregnancy and childbirth classes since June 2014. She began offering placenta encapsulation in December 2014, shortly after the birth of her son. Katrina recently started her official business “Earthside Birth Services”, and is working on making services available to all local mamas.
